Uni transfer, Mapeer project partner participated on the November 24th 2011 in a joint evaluation workshop together with the GPrix and RAPPORT project representatives in Magdeburg, Germany. The GPrix partner Fraunhofer IFF hosted and moderated the workshop. Also representatives of the technology transfer office, EU-service agency and Ministry of Economics of the state of Saxony Anhalt participated at the workshop.

European Projects present measures to enhance SMEs participation in the research cooperative programmes

On November 10th, two relevant projects working under the Framework Programme 7 of the European Commission and, specifically, in the Capacities programme supporting Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) involvement in the research programmes, have met in Porto, Portugal, with the aim to share the outcome of the studies and debates held during last two years.

Cluster analysis of the RTDI programmes of the 28 European countries

Cluster analysis had been used to make sense out of a broad range of RTD SME supporting programmes in the EU-27 and Bosnia and Herzegovina. The final cluster analysis identified three heterogeneous and well-balanced programme clusters: sectoral cluster (64 programmes), SME-targeted cluster (57 programmes) and open cluster (64 programmes). All three programme clusters show some distinguishing, peculiar and clear-cut characteristics.

Strategies for SME friendly RTD support programmes

Within the MaPEeR SME European project, the Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum as one partner of the consortium analysed the experiences of SMEs related to their participation in public RTD and innovation support programmes in a Europe-wide context.

Open Government offers the possibility of reconnecting citizens to the democratic process. The conference focussed on Open Government and eParticipation and the opportunity it offers for engagement with citizens across society on a scale that was previously unthinkable. There was 110 registered delegates for the event including the consortium members.

New survey points out to the administrative costs of participants in FP7

An online survey among FP7 beneficiaries has taken place during the 1st Trimester 2011 for collecting quantitative evidence on administrative costs linked to participation and views on possible simplification scenarios. The results were due to feed into the preparatory work for the rules for participation of the Horizon 2020 Framework Programme for Research and Innovation.
